The Stork and the Crab



An elderly stork lived on the bank of a pond. He was too old to fish any longer, and he needed to think of something to eat. He had a brilliant idea. He sat in the water, a forlorn expression on his face. A crab approached him and inquired as to why he was so dissatisfied. "I've heard that this pond is going to dry up soon, and now I have to fly away to another pond," stated the Stork.

Concerned, the crab requested that the stork preserve the animals in the pond as well. He'd take a couple of fish in his beak and fly on to another pond. He'd eat them once he'd gotten far enough away from the pond. He did this several times.

It was the crab's turn now. The crab peered down as they flew and noticed a lot of fish bones but no pond. The crab quickly realised what was going on and clamped his sharp claws around the stork's throat. The stork fought to break free. But the crab hung on. The stork eventually fell to the ground. The crab scurried back to his pond to tell the rest of the pond inhabitants the story.

Too much greed is unhealthy for you and will only hurt you.
